How Chiropractic Can Help Treat
Mid-Back Pain

Are you struggling to find the right fix to your mid-back pain?
Mid-back pain issues can develop at any age. When our body is under stress, that stress starts to impact our posture and misalign the spine. Sometimes these stresses can occur gradually over time, like sitting at a desk for hours, and sometimes they are sudden, for example due to an injury.

Mid-back pain issues can develop at any age. When our body is under stress, that stress starts to impact our posture and misalign the spine. Sometimes these stresses can occur gradually over time, like sitting at a desk for hours, and sometimes they are sudden, for example due to an injury.
This misalignment of our posture or the bones of our spine causes irritation to the nervous system, resulting in what is called a subluxation. Because our nervous system controls every function of our body, subluxations can result in body signals such as pain, acid reflux, immune deficiency, headaches, breathing problems and more. Many people who have postural and spinal subluxations in their mid-back experience these issues.
In one case, a 32-year-old male reported constant mid-back pain for seven years since a work-related injury and was struggling to find the right treatment, according to The Journal of Physical Therapy Science.
He was in a truck that rolled over a country road, the case said. He underwent multiple CT scans, x-rays, and MR imaging, but physicians failed to find a solution. He also suffered from neck pain, low back pain, and daily headaches with dizziness, leading to full-time disability.
The patient was treated by a CBP posture-correcting method. He was seen three times a week for 12 weeks, totaling 36 rehabilitation sessions. Upon reevaluation, the patient reported to be 90% improved for his primary complaint of mid-back pain as well as headaches and dizziness.
In another case, an 18-year-old with mid-back pain due to complications with Scheuermann’s disease sought solutions to his chronic pain. The disease is defined by having too much curvature in the mid back.
One study looked at how Chiropractic Biophysics, a technique we use in our office, helped a young teenager with his mid-back pain and other related symptoms.
The teenager received a Chiropractic BioPhysics® treatment. After 35 sessions over 14 weeks, he experienced improved forward head posture, posterior sagittal balance, and returned his sacral base angle to normal. His symptoms of mid-back pain, low back pain, and headaches were all alleviated, according to a study published in the National Journal of Medicine.
